Invitation The OSCAR Foundation has pleasure in inviting you to be part of our National Conference, Children First - Tamariki Te Tuatahi, Reflections on Quality, to be held at the Wellington Convention Centre from Friday 21 May to Sunday 23 May 2010. We look forward to seeing you there.
Theme The theme for this year’s OSCAR Foundation National Conference is Children First – Tamariki Te Tuatahi, Reflections on Quality.
This theme has a strong link to our new quality assurance plan, Te Korowai Kounga - The Cloak of Quality. Te Korowai Kounga will feature strongly during the Conference as it will be officially launched during the weekend. The primary principle of Te Korowai Kounga is Children First - Tamariki Te Tuatahi.
We have chosen to extend this focus into the theme for our Conference because children should always be the number one focus in OSCAR programmes and should always come first. The byline, Reflections on Quality, acknowledges that putting children first is an absolute requirement to achieving a quality service.
The Conference will provide workshops and speakers that look at ways of providing a quality service to ensure children are always put first. We will be encouraging delegates to reflect on their own programmes and possible improvements they can make to ensure they continue to provide a quality service for children.
