Welcome to the Programmes Area
This area provides a range of information for all types of OSCAR Programmes. If your programme is new or you are thinking about starting a programme go to the Getting Started section for information that will assist you. It includes valuable information about OSCAR Funding Grants available from the Ministry of Social Development (MSD). Similarly, you will find out how your programme can support parents accessing financial assistance through the Work and Income OSCAR Subsidy. This section also includes useful information for those working hard to become a Child Youth and Family Approved for OSCAR Service.
Whether your programme is large or small, rural or urban, new or old, your staff are vital to your programmes success. Ongoing training for OSCAR staff is essential for ensuring your programme is a fun, safe, quality place for children, staff and parents. Check out the Training section for opportunities in your area and for information on the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand's Out of School Care and Recreation Certificate; the only nationally recognized OSCAR qualification in New Zealand.
Do you have a particular query? Go to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, you may find your question is already answered! You'll also find: tips on running programmes; regional information; newsletters; information about the successful Go Kids! Programme; ideas for games and activities; and the latest news and upcoming OSCAR events.
